Kiptanui, Delos Santos win titles
Kenyan Josphat Kiptanui and Philippine Team member Mary Grace delos Santos ruled yesterday’s 10-kilometer race of the Unity Run Cebu edition held at the Cebu Business Park.
Kiptanui clocked 32 minutes and three seconds to win the men’s crown.
Delos Santos, meanwhile, breezed through the finish line at the 39:35 mark to top the distaff side.
Kenyan Richard Mutisya managed second place honors in the men’s 10k run as he clocked 32:19 while Filipino Adonis Singson rounded off the top three with a time 35:10.
Christy Tutor settled for second against Delos Santos, finishing in 42 minutes while Madelyn Carter clocked 42:54 for third place.
Delos Santos and Kiptanui, thus, bagged the P10,000 purse for dominating the 10k run.

Article continues after this advertisementFilipino Mendel Lopez settled for second place with a time of 16:44 while Southwestern University’s (SWU) John Philip Duenas settled for third spot (17:09).
Despite suffering from an injury, SWU’s Mary Joy Tabal managed to win the women’s 5k crown with a time of 20:02.
Second and third place went to siblings Lovely Fe (20:08) and Cherry Andrin (21:47).
Another Andrin, Jhean, won the women’s 3k title (11:50) while Joel Delposo (9:50) topped the men’s side.
Around a thousand runners participated in this nationwide race. Other races were also held simultaneously in Davao, Manila, Butuan, Tacloban,Puerto Princesa and Bacolod.
