DOTr exec tests positive for coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran, also the department’s spokesperson, on Friday revealed she tested positive for the coronavirus.

“In the spirit of transparency, I would like to inform everyone that I tested positive for COVID-19,” Libiran said in a Facebook post.

The DOTr official added that she subjected herself to home quarantine since she underwent testing on Aug. 1.

“Please do not worry. My GOD is stronger than this virus. HE will never let me down,” Libiran said.

Currently, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is at 119,460 — considered to be highest in the whole Southeast Asia region.

Of the total number of cases, 66,837 have recovered while 2,150 died.
