Stricter quarantine imposed on 4 Ilocos Sur areas
DAGUPAN CITY –– The cities of Vigan and Candon and the towns of Magsingal and Caoayan in Ilocos Sur were placed under stricter quarantine from Aug. 7-21.
The Region I Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the request of Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis Singson to place these four areas on modified enhanced community quarantine due to “unprecedented increase” in cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The rest of the province was placed on modified general community quarantine.
To date, the local COVID-19 task force has recorded a total of 47 confirmed cases in Ilocos Sur, 41 of which were recorded only for the past three weeks.
Ilocos Sur also shut its doors to locally stranded individuals from Aug. 1-14. INQ
