LEGAZPI CITY –– Police arrested 36 people on Wednesday night inside a billiard hall in Casiguran town in Sorsogon province for violating health standards of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said most of the arrested suspects were either playing billiard, while the others were just watching the games at a billiard hall in Barangay Central when the police arrived at 6:20 p.m.

The report said police operatives rounded up the violators, including establishment owner Neil Carlo Gaspacho, 33, for violation of MGCQ guidelines on mass gathering, social distancing, and wearing of face masks.

Police said Gaspacho had previously been warned about health protocol
violations in his establishment but it went unheeded.

The billiard hall was immediately padlocked following the arrests.
