ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines — The third most wanted drug personality in this city was killed in a shootout in Cagayan de Oro City on Friday night, the police said.
Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., director of the Zamboanga Peninsula Police Regional Office, identified the suspect as Mayong Ilang Kamlaon, of Barangay Talon-Talon here.
Cambay said Kamlaon resisted arrest and shot at the teams who were serving a warrant for his arrest in his place in Barangay Bulua at around 11 p.m.
A hand grenade, a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine, and a sling bag with a magazine and live ammunition were recovered from Kamlaon.
