SC: No work in all courts Friday but signing of Roll of Attorneys to continue
MANILA, Philippines — There will be no work in all courts nationwide on Friday following the declaration of July 31, 2020, as a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), the Supreme Court announced Thursday.
But Supreme Court’s Public Information Chief Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka said the signing of the Roll of Attorneys will proceed on Friday as scheduled.
“I just wanted to inform all of you that despite the declared holiday tomorrow, the signing of the Roll of Attorneys for new lawyers will proceed tomorrow,” Hosaka told reporters.
Signing the Roll of Attorney is the last step before one is officially called a lawyer.
Of the 2,103 who passed last year’s Bar examination, Hosaka said there are 1,725 new lawyers who have already signed the roll.
