COVID-19 cases at PNP climb to 2,084

MANILA, Philippines — The number of Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel with COVID-19 climbed to  2,084 by Wednesday, after 36 more police officers tested positive the disease.

According to the PNP Public Information Office, 27 of the new patients are from the National Capital Region Police Office, four each from the Calabarzon Police Regional Office (PRO) and the Davao PRO, and one from the Central Visayas PRO.

The death toll remained at 10, while 27 more recoveries brought the total number of recovered patients to 757.

To date, the PNP also has 807 probable COVID-19 cases and 2,493 suspected cases.

Earlier, the Department of Health reported that the country’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases had crossed the 85,000 mark, surpassing predictions by the University of the Philippines OCTA Research team.
