DOH urged to release hazard pay of front-liners

/ 04:35 AM July 28, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) must release immediately the hazard pay and special risk allowance of government doctors, nurses and other health workers in public hospitals nationwide, a House leader said on Monday.

“It is very clear that our doctors, nurses, other health workers, including job orders, are entitled to hazard pay and special risk allowance. However, until today, there are still those who have yet to receive the amounts representing their hazard pay and special risk allowance,” Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said.

He said the department’s central office “has not released the needed amounts to public hospitals.” “This four-month delay has caused demoralization of our public health workers,” he said.
