Cops nab 3 in Quezon drug bust
LUCENA CITY – Police arrested three suspected drug pushers and seized an illegal firearm in Tiaong town in Quezon province before midnight Sunday.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, reported Monday that anti-narcotic agents arrested John Christoper Alforte, 18; Riann Kier Silva, 19; and Edgardo Perez, 40, after the suspects sold P500 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay (village) San Juan at 11 p.m.
Police seized a total of eight plastic sachets of a still unspecified amount of shabu from the suspects.
Perez also yielded an undocumented caliber 9MM pistol.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while Perez will also be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
