MANILA, Philippines—A number of documents submitted by the registers of deeds of Taguig, Marikina, Makati and Quezon cities have been marked as evidence on Thursday, the fourth day of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Impeachment court spokesperson Maria Valentina Cruz told a press briefing Thursday noon that the documents are composed of “transfer certificates of titles, condominium certificates of titles, deeds of absolute sale, certificate authorizing registration, and similar documents.”

The custodians of the documents were present during the marking, as well as members of the prosecution and defense teams, she said.

Cruz said that no documents from Pasay and Parañaque were available yet although the prosecution had requested for them from the registers of deeds and city assessors of those cities.

“We expect that these registers of deeds will be presented during today’s hearing,” Cruz said. “We will also be marking, later on, other documents and we believe these will be documents supplied by the city assessors of Taguig, Marikina, Quezon, and Makati Cities,” she added.
