Grave of alleged NPA rebel found in Bohol village

TAGBILARAN CITY –– Government troops found the grave of an alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Barangay Rizal, Batuan town in Bohol on Wednesday, July 15.

First Lieutenant Elma Grace Remonde, civil-military relations officer of the 47th Infantry Battalion, said the remains belonged to Ka Willy/Ka Dax/Ka Ar Ar, the vice squad leader of the NPA’s Bohol Party Committee.

Remonde said the victim may have committed suicide due to depression or was probably killed by a fellow rebel.

Crisologo Guimaras, 21, an alleged NPA rebel, who was arrested by authorities during an operation in Barangay Bayawahan, Sevilla town last June 27 informed the military about the burial site.

Guimaras told authorities that the NPA leader was buried on August 8, 2019.

The military and police brought the remains of Ka Willy/ Ka Dax/ Ka Ar Ar to the municipal cemetery in Batuan town.
