3.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Metro Cebu

CEBU CITY –– A magnitude 3.5 earthquake shook parts of Metro Cebu at 7:17 a.m. on Friday, April 17.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) traced the tremor’s epicenter in Minglanilla town, south Cebu.

It was also felt in Lapu-Lapu City at Intensity 3.

The tremor did not cause any damage.

The quake, which had a depth of 15 kilometers, was tectonic in origin.
