Three of the new cases are siblings aged between 1 and 8 years old, records from the provincial health office show.

The children, who are from San Nicolas town, were exposed to their 29-year-old father, the town’s first COVID-19 patient, who came home from Antipolo City on June 27 and was found positive for the virus on July 11.

The first patient’s 47-year-old stepfather also tested positive for COVID-19 and is manifesting symptoms of the disease.

The children and their father are asymptomatic and are confined at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital.

Other new cases involved a 35-year-old man from San Manuel town, a 41-year-old man from Malasiqui town, a 40-year-old man from Labrador town, and a 23-year-old man, also from Labrador.

The latest tally brought the total number of Pangasinan’s active COVID-19 cases to 42.
