COVID-19 cases in Eastern Visayas breach 600
TACLOBAN CITY –– The number of coronavirus cases in Eastern Visayas breached 600 on Wednesday with the addition of 10 new cases.
The new COVID-19 cases in the region involved nine locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and one returning overseas worker.
Dr. Minerva Molon, the director of the Department of Health in Eastern Visayas, said at least 385 LSIs were infected with COVID-19 as of Wednesday.
Molon said at least 486 persons, who contracted the virus in the region, nonetheless have recovered.
She attributed the high recovery rate to the local government units’ move to immediately isolate COVID-19 patients to contain the spread of the virus.
