Northern Samar prov’l jail guard held for firearms, ammunition
TACLOBAN CITY –– A jail guard assigned at the Northern Samar Provincial Jail was arrested on Thursday on accusations of keeping firearms and ammunition without legal authority.
David Tatoy, 49, a resident of Barangay Salvacion, Bobon town in Northern Samar was arrested by combined elements of the Bobon police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group about 6 a.m. on Thursday, a report reaching the Eastern Visayas police in Palo town said.
The operatives were armed with a search warrant for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition issued by Judge Armando Rosadeno of the Regional Trial Court Branch 23 in Allen town, Northern Samar.
Seized from the suspect’s possession were a caliber 45 pistol with nine pieces of live ammunition; a magazine loaded with six live ammunition; a holster for a caliber 45 pistol; a caliber 38 gun; a homemade shotgun; an M16 magazine; two pieces of M16 live ammunition; and a piece clip for M1 Garand with eight ammunition.
