Guevarra confirms Sharon Cuneta reached out to him on rape threat to daughter Frankie
MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed on Sunday that actress Sharon Cuneta has reached out to him regarding a social media post of a netizen threatening to rape her daughter Frankie Pangilinan.
“Ms. Sharon Cuneta has brought this matter to my attention and has expressed her strong desire to file a criminal complaint against the person who posted the offending message in social media. I advised her that the identity of the person and his location should first be clearly established,” Guevarra said in a text message to reporters.
Guevarra said “it appears” that Cuneta, through her own efforts, has identified the man who made the malicious post as well as his location and the name and address of his employer.
“Should Ms. Cuneta proceed to file a criminal complaint with the DOJ (Department of Justice), we shall verify the respondent’s identity and address for the purpose of giving him notice,” said the Justice Secretary.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Cuneta called out an alleged quote from a certain Sonny Alcos threatening to rape Frankie.
“You crossed the line. God help me and the law! God help when I find you. Hindi kita patatahimikin (I will not give you peace),” wrote an angry Cuneta.

The rape threat came after Frankie stirred a debate on social media as she called out an apparent rape victim-blaming remark of TV host Ben Tulfo.
