MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 quake struck Cagayan and nearby areas on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was recorded at 11:49 a.m., with the epicenter located 46 kilometers southwest of Calayan town in Cagayan.
The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of 16 kilometers.
Intensity II was recorded in Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte while Intensity I was recorded in Laoag City.
Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected following the quake.
