DZIQ: Senate awaits articles of impeachment —senator

MANILA, Philippines—The Senate is still waiting for the transmission of the articles of impeachment a day after the House of Representatives voted to impeach Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, Senator Vicente Sotto III told Radyo Inquirer Tuesday.

Sotto also said that the Senate would allow live media coverage of the impeachment proceedings, however, no interview with any of the senator-judges would be permitted.

Gutierrez would undergo trial by the Senate for betrayal of public trust.
