Cops kill suspect with P10,000 in meth in buy-bust gunfight

ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija—A drug suspect selling P10,000 in shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover policeman was killed in what police said was a clash during the buy-bust operation here on Tuesday (June 16).

Maj. Jaime Ferrer, municipal police chief, identified the suspect as Jaime Linsangan, alias “Tamundong,”a resident of the village of Sangitan West in Cabanatuan City.

Police said Linsangan sensed that he was transacting with an undercover agent that led to an exchange of gunfire past 7 p.m. at the village of Concepcion here.

Another suspect, who was with Linsangan, managed to escape on board a black motorcycle without a license plate. The person was not identified.

Police recovered from Linsangan 10 plastic sachets of meth worth at least P10,000 on the streets.

A .38-caliber revolver and the P500 marked bill used in the sting were also recovered.

Ferrer said Linsangan was on Cabanatuan’s drug watch list.
