Active COVID-19 cases in Bicol down to 10 after health workers recover

GUINOBATAN, Albay – Two health workers in Naga City have fully recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing down the total known cases in Bicol to 10, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

Bicol has recorded 75 known cases of COVID-19, five of which died while 60 have recovered from the disease.

The patients tagged as Bicol#26 and Bicol#29 tested positive for the new coronavirus on April 21 and 22, respectively.

On Tuesday, they have each received their second consecutive negative results, along with 75 other tests done at the Legazpi City and Naga City testing centers, which have a combined testing capacity of 140.

On Monday, two doctors, a utility worker, and a volunteer driver also recovered from the coronavirus, according to DOH.

As of this writing, the youngest active case of COVID-19 in Bicol is an asymptomatic 10-year-old girl from Labo town in Camarines Norte, while the oldest is a 57-year-old man, who is showing symptoms but is in a stable condition.
