PHA disputes calls for Duque to quit
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s largest umbrella group of private and public hospitals disputed on Tuesday that there are calls within its ranks for Health Secretary Francisco Duque III to be replaced as it stressed that the country should not focus on finding his replacement but on better protecting medical front-liners.
Philippine Hospital Association (PHA) president Dr. Jaime Almora maintained that among their network of 1,981 hospitals, there was “no clamor for drastic changes in the leadership” of the Department of Health.
