5 Pinoys die of COVID-19 in Canada

/ 04:36 AM May 20, 2020

At least five Filipinos in Canada have died of the coronavirus disease, according to Philippine Ambassador Petronila Garcia. She said 225 Filipinos in Calgary were infected with the virus but 89 of them have already recovered. In Toronto, 22 Filipinos tested positive for the virus, six of whom have recovered while one died. “As of today, I’m sad to report that five Filipinos died of COVID-19. We have one case of suicide so his cause of death was suicide but the postmortem (autopsy) came out positive for COVID-19,” Garcia said. She said there were around 930,000 Filipinos in Canada. —Dona Z. Pazzibugan
