Comelec pushes mobile voting app overseas
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said there was more reason to push through with mobile voting application now that the world continued to struggle to contain the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said the poll body would hold a test run as soon as it was safe to conduct it.
“We have to choose countries where there are very low risk of contamination. We have to find ways to test it without personal contact with the providers,” she said.
The Comelec earlier approved the test run of the mobile voting app overseas for possible use in future poll exercises.
