BI stops Canadian national from leaving PH
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has stopped a Canadian national from leaving the country so he could face the criminal charges filed against him by a Filipino businessperson for slander and grave coercion.
Canadian Nelson William Paul Mayko, 56, was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last Friday as he was about to board a flight to South Korea after he was found to be in BI’s alert list of aliens with pending cases.
Mayko was accused by a businessperson who used to own and operate a stall at the public market in Tanay, Rizal, of forcibly taking over her stall, including the ready-to-wear items being sold.
