3 suspected COVID-19 patients die in Quezon

LUCENA CITY –– Health authorities in Quezon reported Tuesday that three more suspected coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients have died in the province.

In a report released at 8 a.m., the Quezon provincial information office (QPIO), citing the latest record from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), revealed that three more patients were added to the fatality list of suspected coronavirus carriers.

The list of fatalities rose to 44 from Monday’s record of 41.

But despite repeated questions coursed through the QPIO, the IPHO has yet to clarify if the fatalities had been tested to show if they were sick of COVID-19 or not.

Quezon also recorded another recovered COVID-19 patient from Lopez town, bringing the total number of recoveries in the province to 54.

Lopez now has six confirmed COVID-19 cases with three recoveries.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in the province, however, remain at 81.

At least 54 of the 81 COVID-19 patients have recovered, while eight others perished. The number of active COVID-19 carriers in the province is down to 19, all confined in medical facilities.

Quezon has 1,680 recorded suspected coronavirus carriers, a spike from Monday’s list of 1,648.

At least 1,419 “suspects” are already out of hospitals or
finished home quarantine.

The report showed that 79 suspected carriers are confined in different hospitals and the other 109 still under home isolation.
