Navotas City celebrates 106th year on Jan. 16

Navotas will mark its 106th anniversary on Monday when it launches the Pangisdaan Festival,  the most anticipated and grandest event in the city.

“This is the week in every year that we spotlight and award the Navotenyos’ unique talents and characteristics to show them off to the rest of the country and world,” said Mayor John Tiangco.

“Known for being the fishing capital of the country, there are many water-related skills we proudly focus on to promote our rich culture and traditions,” the mayor added.

The city government has organized a series of events for their foundation day, including a boat race, sport fishing tournament and the awarding of top 10 taxpayers and top 10 fishermen.

FEATURED STORIES

Other activities include a Mega Job Fair, trade fair, drum and lyre competition, and the selection of Mutya ng Navotas.

This year’s theme is  “Kulturang Navoteno, Buhayin, Linangin at Paunlarin, Navotas, Navotaas!”
