NBI says agents also hunting those who have threatened Robredo on social media
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is also exerting efforts to arrest those who have threatened Vice President Leni Robredo on social media, according to an official.
NBI Spokesperson Nick Suarez confirmed this in a text message to INQUIRER.net, two days after a public high school teacher was arrested by NBI agents for posting on Twitter an offer of P50 million for anyone who can kill President Rodrigo Duterte.
The 25-year-old teacher was identified as Ronnel Mas who was arrested by NBI agents on Monday in Barangay North Poblacion, Sta. Cruz, Zambales.
His tweet read: “I will give P50 million reward kung sino makakapatay kay Duterte (to whoever will kill Duterte).”
A video posted by an arresting NBI agent on Facebook showed an emotional Mas apologizing to the President for his tweet.
The NBI earlier said Mas will face charges for inciting to sedition in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and for violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials.
