3 more cops contract COVID-19; PNP tally now at 112
MANILA, Philippines — Three more police officers were diagnosed with the coronavirus disease, raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in the police force to 112.
As of Tuesday, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said in a statement that the PNP Health Service recorded three new cases in Metro Manila. The cases involved policemen aged 48, 29, and 32.
The number of COVID-19 deaths stood at three while the number of recoveries in PNP remained at 17.
PNP Health Service also documented 310 probable cases and 384 suspect cases in the PNP. Probable cases are suspected carriers of novel coronavirus, which causes COVID-19 but are awaiting laboratory results of their specimens.
Meanwhile, suspects have COVID-19 symptoms but are not tested yet for the virus.
