MANILA, Philippines — Senators did not take any chances with threats of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as they resumed session on Monday afternoon wearing face masks and gloves.

The Senate resumed session with just 15 senators physically present despite the enhanced community quarantine imposed in Metro Manila.

Among the senators present are Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri,  Senators Panfilo Lacson, Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino, Grace Poe, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Sherwin Gatchalian, Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato dela Rosa, Joel Villanueva, Nancy Binay and Richard Gordon.

Face shields were also placed on top of the senators’ table, which were spaced out to observe physical distancing measures during the conduct of session.

Before the plenary session, the lawmakers and their underwent COVID-19 rapid testing, where the result of at least 15 Senate staffers yielded a positive result.
