Quezon province records 183 PUIs

LUCENA CITY – Health authorities in Quezon province on Sunday recorded 183 suspected carriers of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) in a 5 p.m. report Sunday revealed that they have validated 183 patients under investigation (PUIs). On Saturday, the IPHO reported 153 PUIs.

The health authorities also recorded nine confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province with the addition of three more cases.

In its latest report, the IPHO described “Confirmed Case #7” as 55-year-old male from this city “with history of travel to Pampanga”. He is confined in an undisclosed medical facility and in stable condition.

“Confirmed Case #8” is a 55-year-old male from Candelaria town “with no travel history”. He showed symptoms and is confined in an unnamed hospital.

“Confirmed Case #9” is 37-year-old male also from Lucena “with history of travel to Makati”. The patient also showed symptoms and is confined in a hospital.

With five confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lucena, Mayor Roderick Alcala placed the entire city in a total lockdown starting Monday.

The IPHO on Saturday also noted that there is another confirmed case of COVID-19 from the island town of Polillo.

The IPHO said the patient is now under quarantine in an undisclosed hospital in Metro Manila and there is an ongoing contact tracing in Polillo.

However, the said patient was included in the list of confirmed cases in the National Capital Region and not in Quezon.
