Legazpi diocese cancels Holy Week activities

LEGAZPI CITY –– Holy Week activities of the Diocese here were canceled due to the threat posed by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a Diocesan circular, Bishop Joel Baylon said the celebration of Rites would be done privately in the parishes, while the faithful are enjoined to watch through social media in their homes.

He also encouraged the faithful to continue praying Oratio Imperata, the spiritual communion prayer, the rosary, and other forms of prayer while unable to attend mass.

He reminded the people to develop ways to live a simple lifestyle.

“While it is wise to have extra food items in our homes, let us not hoard goods such as alcohol, sanitizers, and the like, depriving others of these essential items,” he said./lzb
