Sorsogon suspends classes over COVID-19 threat
LEGAZPI CITY — Sorsogon province has declared on Sunday a month-long suspension of classes in all levels in public and private schools as a precautionary measure against the entry and spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the province.
Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero issued the executive order on Sunday mandating the suspension of classes in all levels for the period of 30 days beginning March 16 to April 15 this year.
Escudero said the order includes the deferral of all school activities such as graduations, academic exercises, recognition rites and similar events that would require a large crowd gathering.
