Laguna suspends classes after confirmed COVID-19 case

LOS BAÑOS — The provincial government of Laguna announced on social media the class suspensions in all levels private and public Sunday after a local of Santa Rosa City tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Governor Ramil Hernandez declared that classes are suspended from March 16 to 20. He advised all students to stay home and study.

Ahead of the governor’s announcement, the Nagcarlan municipal government and the Calamba City government suspended classes from March 16 to 20, and in Lumban, classes are suspended from March 16 to 21.

Class suspensions in Biñan City are extended up to April 14.

In an advisory issued by Mayor Arman Dimaguila on social media, he instructed the Department of Education to facilitate online final examinations for students who have not taken their final tests yet.

He also encouraged teachers to use Google Classrooms and group chat applications as online learning platforms in the meantime.
