MANILA, Philippines – Most parts of the country will experience hot and humid weather, even as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to affect Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.
“Umiiral pa rin ang amihan o Northeast Monsoon dito na lamang sa hilagang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz said.
(The Northeast Monsoon continues to prevail in the northern part of the country.)
Dela Cruz said Batanes, Cagayan and the Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains.
Isolated light rains will also be experienced in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest Cagayan Valley, she said.
“Malaking bahagi ng Luzon maging ang Visayas at Mindanao ay makakaranas ng medyo kainitang tanghali at hapon,” Dela Cruz said.
(A larger part of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience slightly hot afternoon.)
Dela Cruz said that Metro Manila’s temperature could range from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa likewise warned operators and crew of small vessels of rough sea conditions off the coast of Batanes, Babuyan Island, Calayan Island, and the northern parts of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte.
