105 patients under COVID-19 monitoring in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) is checking 105 patients in Metro Manila for possible infection of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the highest so far in all regions in the country.

Data from the case tracker of the DOH as of Monday morning showed that 96 patients monitored for COVID-19 in Metro Manila have been discharged after yielding negative results in two consecutive tests.

Nationwide, the DOH has checked a total of 609 individuals for COVID-19. Of this number, 132 are still admitted in various hospitals, while 474 have been discharged.

The tally also includes the three Chinese nationals who earlier tested positive for the viral infection, including two in Metro Manila and one in Central Visayas. Of those who tested positive, one died on February 1, one was later discharged after recovering from the disease, and one flew back to China.

Western Visayas – 0 admitted, 38 discharged
Cagayan Valley – 2 admitted, 34 discharged
Cordillera Administrative Region – 7 admitted, 21 discharged
Davao Region – 0 admitted, 23 discharged
Eastern Visayas – 2 admitted, 16 discharged
Northern Mindanao – 1 admitted, 16 discharged
Mimaropa – 0 admitted, 15 discharged
Bicol Region – 5 admitted, 7 discharged
Ilocos Region – 1 admitted, 10 discharged
Soccsksargen – 1 admitted, 2 discharged
Caraga – 0 admitted, 3 discharged
BARMM – 0 admitted, 1 discharged

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 worldwide has surpassed 2,400, while over 78,000 have been infected, mostly in mainland China.
