Man shoots self in front of co-worker

A 22-YEAR-OLD man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City, last Tuesday night.

Killed on the spot was Felcris Sayon, 22, of barangay Dakit, Barili town, Cebu. Sayon was a worker of Cold Link Storage Corp.

Sayon’s boardmate and co-worker, Fermin Rabilas, 22, told police that he and Sayon were together past midnight.

Rabilas told police that Sayon suddenly pointed a .38 revolver at his forehead.

Rabilas said he tried to grab the gun from Sayon, but the firearm went off.

Police recovered a .38 revolver with one live bullet and an empty shell near the man’s body.

PO1 Heracleo Gamboa, desk officer of the Basak police, said there was no sign of foul play in the man’s death based on the initial investigation of the Scene of the Crime Operatives).

Found in the victim’s cellular phone were messages about Sayon’s breakup with his girlfriend.

The breakup may have driven the man to commit suicide.
