BAGUIO CITY—The first four suspected cases of novel coronavirus (nCoV) infection in the Cordillera have tested negative for the disease, local health officials said on Monday (Feb. 10).

Results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine showed that the tests done on respiratory samples from the four people listed as Patients Under Investigation (PUIs) turned out negative.

Three of the PUIs, including a 2-year-old boy, were first tested negative for nCoV, said Dr. Jennifer Joyce Pira, head of the Disease Prevention and Control Cluster of the Department of Health in Cordillera, during a press briefing here.
