MANILA, Philippines—President Rodrigo Duterte has given Secretary Catalino Cuy a fresh mandate to lead the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
According to the DDB, Duterte signed Cuy’s reappointment on Jan. 21. Malacañang, however, has yet to release a copy of his appointment paper as of posting time.
Cuy was first appointed at the DDB in January 2018, serving for the remainder of the term of his predecessor, Dionisio Santiago, whom the President fired after contradicting the information on the number of drug users in the country.
The DDB said Cuy’s reappointment will sustain the implementation of the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy or PADS.
The reappointment paper of Cuy was received by DDB on Thursday, the agency added.
