4.9-magnitude quake hits coast off Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Occidental Sunday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said it traced the quake’s epicenter about 114 km southwest of Sarangani, Davao Occidental at a depth of 14 kilometers.
The earthquake which occurred at 5:12 p.m. was of tectonic origin.

General Santos City; Alabel and Malungon, Sarangani; and Tupi, South Cotabato felt the quake at Intensity I, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs said no damages and aftershocks could be expected from the earthquake.
