Cops kill rape suspect who ‘opens fire’ inside police station
SAN PEDRO CITY –– A man accused of rape was killed after the police claimed he opened fire inside their station in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province.
Dasmariñas City police Lt. Col. Richard Ang, in a phone interview Thursday, said Justine de Guia was charged for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl.
Ang said the alleged rape happened several months ago, but it was only on Wednesday that de Guia supposedly learned of the charges filed by the victim’s family against him.
On Wednesday afternoon, de Guia happened to bump into the mother of his supposed victim in Barangay Burol 2.
“Based on our investigation, (de Guia) threatened to harm the mother. The mother got scared and ran to our nearest PCP (police community precinct) to seek help,” Ang said.
Police responded to the scene and immediately placed de Guia under arrest.

After firing shots, de Guia allegedly ran out of the police station and escaped towards a community in the same village. During the chase, police said the suspect kept firing and shot a nine-year-old boy.
The police chased him and that was when they had an exchange of fire before the police finally killed him.
Ang said the boy caught in the crossfire survived after undergoing an operation on Thursday.
No one from the policemen was hurt.
Ang maintained that the policemen involved only acted in defense.
“But still, we’re collecting footage from CCTVs in the area of the chase to justify (and clear) our policemen of their actions,” Ang said.
