MANILA, Philippines — No tax-delinquent Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) has been shuttered despite the three-day ultimatum set by President Rodrigo Duterte in late November, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) admitted to lawmakers on Tuesday.
At a hearing of the House games and amusements panel, Pagcor officials were asked to give an update regarding the deadline set by Duterte for Pogos to settle their tax obligations within three days.
“We would also like to ask for an update on the statement of the President that those Pogos who have not paid taxes have to pay, otherwise they will be closed. But no Pogo licensee has been closed after that remark by the President,”said Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr.—DJ Yap
