9 suspected drug peddlers, users fall in Quezon stings

LUCENA CITY — At least six suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) peddlers and three alleged drug users were arrested in buy-bust operations in Lucena City and Candelaria town in Quezon province on Friday, police said Saturday.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Janil Aguilar, 40; Jared Dapito, 27; and Adrian Zamora, 26, after they sold “shabu” to a police agent and an “informant” in a transaction in Barangay Cotta around 11:20 p.m., Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report.

Authorities seized six plastic sachets of shabu weighing 15 grams worth P83.250 at P5,550 per gram.

Earlier, Joan Samson, 20, was also arrested in another drug sting in Barangay Dalahican around 9:50 a.m. She yielded nine plastic sachets of shabu worth P13,098 in the street.

In Candelaria, Joel Taduran, 40, was nabbed in Barangay Masin Sur around 9:30 p.m. The suspect yielded six plastic sachets of “shabu” worth P58,616 in local street price at P6,800 per gram.

Early in the morning, policemen also arrested Dennis Marquez, 45, after he sold shabu to an undercover police officer in his house in Gonzales street in Candelaria town center around 7:20 a.m.

Police also caught Reynaldo Reymundo, 47; Gabriel De Chaves, 36; and Erwin Loria, 37, while sniffing shabu together. Shabu worth P2,990 was seized from the suspects./lzb
