A father was jailed for reportedly dropping his son off the side of a road in Florida, United States because he thought he was gay.

Evenaud Julmeus supposedly kicked his son (name withheld in the report) out of their home after finding him watching gay pornography on his phone last Sunday, Dec. 1.

The 30-year-old then told his child to pack a bag because he was taking him to a nearby police department where they would find him a new home, as per Bay News 9 yesterday, Dec. 3.

As Julmeus was driving his son to the police department, he made the child step out of the car while on a highway. The father then drove off, leaving the child on the side of the road.

The boy’s age is unclear but Haines City police said that he is a pre-teen, as per Fox News yesterday.

Authorities arrived at the location of the child after receiving a call from a bystander who saw what happened. As per report, the boy was crying when a police officer found him.

Aside from several clothes in the child’s duffel bag, he had no food, water or money. The boy’s mother (also unnamed in the report) picked him up at the police station after learning about the situation.

Police also went to Julmeus’ house moments after but the father had already fled before they arrived. Authorities found two other children at the house with no adult supervision.

Julmeus, who turned himself in and is now under police custody, was charged with three counts of negligent child abuse without bodily harm. Ryan Arcadio/JB
