6 new PNR train cars for delivery next week
Six new train cars that will be added to the Philippine National Railways’ (PNR) fleet are expected to arrive in the country next week, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Thursday.
The train cars, which will form two train sets consisting of three coaches each, are among the 37 ordered by the Philippine government from Indonesia. The two train sets will add 18 to 20 more trips every day for the Tutuban-FTI route, according to PNR general manager Junn Magno.
The new trains are expected to arrive in Manila on Dec. 8. The other trains will be delivered before February 2020.
The DOTr is also expected in the coming months to open bidding for additional rolling stock packages for the upcoming PNR Clark and Calamba lines.
