LUCENA CITY –– At least four suspected drug pushers, three of them farmers, were arrested in buy-bust operations in Sariaya town and Lucena City in Quezon province on Tuesday, police said.

A drug enforcement unit collared Bobby Reyes, 58, after he sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer and an “asset” in Barangay Ibabang Iyam around 8:45 p.m.

Authorities confiscated three plastic sachets of “shabu” weighing 4.2 grams worth P23,310 in the street market.

Police tagged the suspect as among the few remaining notorious street-level “shabu” peddlers in the city.

In Sariaya town, police busted Simplicio Buela, 53; Jaimer Buela, 34; and Ronald Villegas, 35, all farmers and residents of Barangay Bignay 1 after the group sold “shabu” to a police agent around 7:15 p.m.

The suspects yielded three plastic sachets of “shabu” worth P2,775.

The suspects were detained in Sariaya and Lucena police jails. Delfin T. Mallari Jr.
