Machines for fake cigarettes destroyed in Clark
CLARK FREEPORT, Philippines—Several machines used for manufacturing counterfeit cigarettes were destroyed by personnel of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) here on Monday. Seven cigarette-making machines, a plastic recycling machine, a manual lifter, a generator set and a generator cooling system were crushed using a backhoe. These machines were among the first batch of equipment that the BOC destroyed inside this free port in Pampanga province. These were seized in San Simon town, Pampanga, and Guiguinto town in Bulacan province in February. The BOC will destroy another set of machines in Guiguinto on Tuesday. —TONETTE OREJAS
