Bato’s reminder to Revilla amid rumored TV comeback: Prioritize work as senator

MANILA, Philippines — With the rumored television comeback of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, fellow senator, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, reminded him to always prioritize his work as a lawmaker.

“Depende how he manages his time,” Dela Rosa told reporters at the Senate when sought for a comment on Revilla’s supposed return to the small screen.

Revilla is reportedly guesting in the GMA’s series “The Gift” and will be in a still-untitled drama-fantasy anthology, a children’s show, as per Philippine Entertainment Portal on Nov. 4.

“Dapat i-manage niya na first and foremost, he’s a senator, pangalawa na yung paga-artista niya. So, priority niya palagi itong trabaho niya dito, alam naman niya yan,” Dela Rosa went on.

“Priority niya yung pagse-Senador niya dahil binoto siya ng taumbayan…kaya niya yan imanage, alam niya yan.

However, Revilla’s rumored TV comeback drew flack from some celebrities.

“Lol. Alden (Richards) is a decent guy. GMA better not subject him to the certainly unpleasant experience of working with a plunderer,” Severo said. “Malalang backlash ba ang hanap ninyo (Are you looking for serious backlash)? #NoToBongRevillaOnTheGift,” poet and actor Juan Miguel Severo said over Twitter on Tuesday.

Revilla was formerly accused of allocating P224 million from his “pork barrel,” or the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), to fake non-government organizations owned by Janet Lim Napoles.

Last December, he was acquitted of plunder cases by the Sandiganbayan in December 2018 and ran for Senator in the May 13 elections where he ranked 11th with over 14 million votes. /muf
