Malacañang won’t meddle in Mamasapano case reopening

04:36 AM November 11, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang said on Sunday that it would not meddle in the Ombudsman’s disposition of a bid to reopen the case against ex-President Benigno Aquino III and several others over the 2015 Mamasapano incident that resulted in the death of 44 police commandos.

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo made the remark after the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said they had new evidence to merit the reopening of the case. —Julie M. Aurelio
