3.1-magnitude quake jolts Cotabato; Intensity III felt in Kidapawan City

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.1 earthquake jolted Cotabato anew on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs said the center of the quake was located 16 kilometers (km) southwest of Makilala, Cotabato, at 12:50 p.m.

Kidapawan City registered an Intensity III and an Instrumental Intensity II.

The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 22 km, Phivolcs said.

No aftershocks nor damage could be expected from the temblor, it added. /je
