4.2-magnitude quake jolts Cotabato hours after strong quake
MANILA, Philippines — A mild quake, measuring at magnitude 4.2, jolted Cotabato anew hours after a powerful temblor hit the province on Thursday morning.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake hit 23 kilometers (km) northeast of Tulunan, Cotabato, at 1:59 p.m.
An Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Koronadal City; Tupi, South Cotabato; and Malungon, Sarangani.
Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic in origin and was 25 km deep.
No aftershock or damage could be expected from the temblor, it added. /je
